Raise Your Voice, Not Your Blood Pressure: “Not the 51st State: The Great Canadian Sing-along”
A fun and uplifting evening of unity, music, and national pride in response to turbulent times
With the growing anxiety and frustration many Canadians feel over recent political and trade tensions with the United States, St. George’s Anglican Church in Downtown St. Catharines invites the Niagara community to join together for an unforgettable evening to celebrate unity, joy, and national pride through song.
The Great Canadian Sing-along will bring people of all ages together to sing as one to celebrate Canada. The event will feature well-loved songs by Canadians and about Canada, highlighting our nation’s rich history, diverse culture, enduring spirit and musical talent.
“This is about more than music—it’s about standing together, side by side, and using our voices to express pride, hope, and confidence,” says Reverend Canon Martha Tatarnic, Co-rector at St. George’s. “At a time when the world can feel unpredictable, this is an opportunity to raise our voices together in a way that uplifts, unites, and strengthens our community.”
“No stage, no stars—just a room full of people singing from the heart. Singing together reminds us of who we are and what we stand for. In such times, why scream when you can sing?” says Reverend Canon Tom Vaughan, Co-rector, St. George’s.
